What to Expect at Your Appointment

We want to ensure a smooth, stress-free appointment for you and your pets! Below are some resources and guidelines for a successful appointment.

Ready to Book?

Call us at 612-268-3838 or fill out an appointment request form.

Once you are scheduled, we will send any necessary forms via email.

We will also send you a text message requesting a deposit.

  • All appointments require a $95 deposit.

  • This will become a credit on your account and covers the entire house call fee. This charge is separate from the cost of the physical exam. The house call accounts for fuel costs, extra time spent driving between appointments, and the convenience and increased level of care that a home visit provides. Only one house call fee is charged per visit, even if multiple pets are examined.

  • The physical exam will be charged at the time of the appointment.

  • If you cancel with more than 48 hours notice, your deposit will be refunded to you in full.

  • If an appointment is canceled with less than 48 hours notice, or if the animal cannot be found or handled, the deposit will be forfeited.

Preparing for your appointment

If your pet needs any pre-visit medication at their regular vet, please give it as directed.

  • We will see how they do for this visit and can adjust doses as needed.

We will reach out to you via text when we are on our way to your home.

  • We will arrive within 15-30 minutes of your appointment time.

Please confine your pet prior to us arriving, so they are easily accessible by our team.

  • Cats should be in a bathroom

  • If a pet cannot be found or handled, the deposit will be forfeit.

We recommend that your pet skips a meal prior to their visit

  • We will use plenty of treats to help ease fear, anxiety, and stress during the visit, and a hungry pet will be much more excited about what we have to offer!

During your appointment

Each appointment lasts about 30-45 minutes per pet

  • This depends on the needs of each individual patient.

  • We will set up wherever you and your pet are most comfortable: the kitchen, sofa, and even the backyard are all great spots to help your pet!

History, physical exam, diagnostics, and treatments

  • We will learn all about your pet’s history and any concerns you may have

  • We will perform a full physical examination of your pet

  • After discussion with you, will perform any diagnostics or treatments needed

Collect payment

  • We accept cash, check, debit, and credit card payments.

  • Credit card payments have a 3% surcharge.

Schedule any follow-up appointments

  • Any rechecks or treatment-only appointments will be scheduled at the end of your appointment.

  • If you need to check your schedule, you can reach out to us when you are able.

After your appointment

Lab results will be called back as soon as they are available.

  • This may take several business days, depending on the test performed.
