Dr. Laura Flancher, Co-founder
A native of Kearney, Nebraska, Dr. Laura has nurtured a lifelong love for animals. She grew up with a menagerie of pets that included dogs, birds, fish, and even an iguana. What pets she didn't have, she found - she spent many happy hours visiting neighbors' kittens, rescuing toads, feeding caterpillars, and unsuccessfully attempting to hatch grocery store chicken eggs. Her experiences shadowing her hometown veterinarian cemented veterinary medicine as her calling.
Dr. Laura graduated with a B.S. in Biology from Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota. After veterinary school, she completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital, a multi-specialty referral hospital in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Laura spent the following four years working in Colorado as a small animal emergency and general practitioner before moving back to Minnesota and working exclusively in small animal general practice since. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and feline medicine, and she is equally passionate about workplace wellbeing and crafting a positive culture within a workplace and its surrounding community.
Dr. Laura's most satisfying cases are those where she knows pets and their people. She enjoys hearing about all of the little things pets do that make them unique, and she loves when she gets to witness the human-animal bond flourish. To Dr. Laura, The Good Life is what she has always known as an animal lover and native Nebraskan: it's about loving the pets you have and helping other animals as if they're your own.
Dr. Laura lives with her husband, two children, and two dogs in Eden Prairie. She can typically be found in her garden, drinking her favorite tea, or hosting friends and family for home-cooked food and good company.
